The Results: Tools & Strategies in Action

An update from a teacher after implementing what was learned in the seminar:

Start of Class: I decided to try an opening slide with what the kids were supposed to do and have them take the first 10 minutes of class. IT IS AMAZING! I can make lots of connections with individual kids at that time, regain my composure and reset myself. It has been a really good addition.

Practice Time: Still need to work on this one. Think it is a transition thing. Kids don’t seem to know to do their work. Maybe need the formality of a slide for this one too.

End of Class: Again, have a slide for the last 5 minutes. Kids stay engaged until the end. No one is lining up at the door, no chaos. Love it.

Classroom Flow: Going great – classes run smooth and quickly.
